The Administration Core provides overall leadership of the UF Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center (SCIRC).
Dr. Philip Efron, Professor of Surgery, is the current director of the Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center. Dr. Moldawer provides guidance as Director Emeritus and serves on the Internal Advisory Board. The Center is advised by both Internal and External Advisory Committees. As Program Director, Dr. Efron serves as the director of the Administration Core.
The Administration Core provides the organizational structure to achieve the goals and objectives of the SCIRC program as a whole, and of its individual research projects. It accomplishes this by directing and monitoring the UF SCIRC day-to-day operations to ensure timely achievement of milestones, in addition to promoting our investigators new translational research initiatives. The main functions of the Administration Core are: Serve as the cornerstone and support for the individual projects, cores and participating investigators by organizing twice-weekly SOP and Adjudication meetings and twice-monthly research seminars.
Support the Steering Committee, Internal Advisory Board, External Advisory Board and Patient Safety Monitoring Committee as applicable.
Provide administrative support to the Program Director to ensure timely dissemination of information generated by this large-scale collaborative program.
Provide administrative support (accounting, ordering, travel for all investigators, research seminars).
Serve as an advocate for SCIRC initiatives on the UF campus, including coordination with the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), the Institute on Aging, McKnight Brain Institute, Colleges of Engineering, Public Health and Health Professions and Human Performance, and the Departments of Surgery, Medicine, Anesthesiology, Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering,
