Congratulations to Dr. Larissa Gutman Paranhos Langhi Prata on Receiving a KO1 Award

We are proud to recognize SCIRC collaborator Larissa Gutman Paranhos Langhi Prata, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, on receiving a prestigious NIH Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01). headshot

Her federally funded project, titled “Senescent Cells Effects in Response to Pathogens” (Award Number 1K01AG090692-01), will advance understanding of how cellular senescence impacts the immune response during infection. This innovative research will provide important insights into age-related immune dysfunction and the mechanisms that shape outcomes in infectious disease.

Dr. Langhi Prata is mentored by Dr. Philip A. Efron, Director of the Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center, whose guidance will support the development of her research career and scientific leadership.

This award represents an important milestone that will further accelerate Dr. Langhi Prata’s career development and strengthen the broader scientific community’s efforts to improve health across the lifespan.
