Dr. Efron was recognized for his long-standing service as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM) and for his exceptional achievements as a nationally and internationally distinguished leader in critical care who exemplify the highest level of distinction in their field. This honor reflects his exemplary personal character, leadership, clinical excellence, and outstanding contributions to research, education, and service to SCCM, ACCM, and the broader field of critical care.

The MCCM designation is reserved for a select group of individuals who are expected to continue advancing the technical and cognitive aspects of multiprofessional critical care and to serve as role models and mentors for the next generation of clinicians and investigators.
