The Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Center (SCIRC) was proud to have a strong presence at this year’s Academic Surgical Congress (ASC) meeting, where our residents and trainees showcased outstanding basic, translational, and clinical research alongside colleagues from institutions across the country.
From oral presentations to poster sessions, SCIRC investigators highlighted innovative work spanning sepsis biology, immune dysfunction, critical illness recovery, and surgical outcomes. Each presentation reflected the rigor, collaboration, and scientific curiosity that define our training environment.
Most importantly, this meeting provided our residents with the opportunity to:
-
Share novel discoveries with national leaders in surgery and critical care
-
Engage in thoughtful scientific discussion and feedback
-
Build collaborations that advance translational research
-
Represent UF and SCIRC on a national stage
We extend our sincere congratulations to all of our residents who presented their research. Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to improving outcomes for critically ill patients make our entire center proud. These accomplishments are a testament not only to your hard work, but also to the strong mentorship and team science culture within SCIRC.
Meetings like ASC reinforce our mission: training the next generation of surgeon-scientists while accelerating discoveries that directly impact patient care.
Congratulations to each of you on an exceptional job. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and excited to see what you accomplish next.
