The American College of Surgeons has accepted a research abstract from the Sepsis and Critical Illness Research Centerfor presentation at the Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum during ACS Clinical Congress 2026.
Elida Benitez will present the abstract, “Improving Pneumonia Rates Through A Risk-stratified Oral Care Protocol In Cardiac Surgery Patients,” as a Short Oral Presentation in the Cardiothoracic Surgery session.
The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 12:45 PM – 2:15 PM ET.
The project highlights ongoing efforts to improve patient outcomes through targeted quality improvement strategies and multidisciplinary clinical research.
